PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUPLES COUNSELLING.
I am committed to helping individuals and couples compassionately understand themselves and those around them. People often enter individual counselling because they are struggling with difficult emotional circumstances and relationships. Most are trying to make sense of problematic thoughts and feelings. Some people come in for short term help and to develop tools and strategies to get them through a particularly painful time. Others seek a more intensive longer-term approach, which involves a more in-depth exploration of problematic life patterns.
Couples counselling aims to uncover reactionary aspects of yourself that lead to discontent and a loss of connection and intimacy in your relationship. We will explore where you are stuck and examine dysfunctional behavioural cycles. You will learn how to communicate effectively, advocate for yourself with love, and respond to criticism non-defensively.
I tailor therapy sessions to people’s needs and aims. I integrate, as appropriate, various techniques and skills from a range of psychotherapeutic and counselling approaches. I welcome you to call or email me if you wish to enhance your relationship or require support and guidance through a challenging situation.
