Our Low Cost Counselling Service aims to increase access to therapy and is open from October to July each year.
We are currently unable to accept new referrals as there are no counselling spaces available before we close in July. The next spaces available will be from late October 2025, and we will be accepting new referrals for the waiting list from September 2025.

If your need for support is urgent, please contact an NHS urgent mental health helpline in your area. These helplines are open 24 hours a day and you can speak to a mental health professional who can help decide the best course of care.
Alternatively, the Samaritans provides emotional support to anyone in emotional distress or struggling to cope. They provide confidential support 24 hours a day by telephone.
BCPC runs a low-cost psychotherapy & counselling service from October to July each year. The service aims to increase access to services by providing counselling for those on low incomes, those who are unemployed, students, and those in receipt of state benefits. Low-cost counselling is provided by our trainees, who are closely supervised by experienced UKCP and BACP registered practitioners.
This service offers short term counselling (10 weeks) allowing the opportunity for BCPC trainees to accrue practice hours in a supervised agency setting.
Sessions cost £5 or £7 per session and take place in the confidential setting of our practice rooms at 1 Trim Bridge.
