BCPC Adverse Weather Procedure – Updated January 2026
If severe adverse weather, including heavy snow, is forecast, students need to be aware of the following procedure:
In the event of seriously adverse weather conditions a decision will be made as to whether course days can run in the BCPC building.
Where courses are continuing as normal there will be no message on the website.
Where courses cannot be held in the BCPC building a decision will be made by tutors and the Course Lead as to whether teaching will move online or whether the day will be cancelled.
The BCPC website HOMEPAGE will be updated by 7.30am in the event of any change to the normal running of classes.
Where classes are to be held online your tutors will be in touch with you with relevant information.
Where classes are to be cancelled your tutors will be in touch with relevant input regarding the learning for the day.
It is the responsibility of students to check the website as we cannot email all classes before the office is open. Please note also that the announcement will be on the TOP BANNER of the Home page – this moves quickly between 3 different headings, and you may have to wait a few seconds to make sure you have seen the announcement.
If classes are running but you are unable to attend, please email your tutor and the BCPC Office.
