Low Cost Counselling Service

Our low cost counselling service aims to increase access to therapy.

Cultural and religious issues professionals may encounter following a bereavement (Adults, Children, Babies and Pregnancy Loss)

We will look at Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Sikh, Hindu and Buddhist faiths as well as having no religion.

  • Beliefs about death and dying, and life after death
  • Patient experiences (good and poor) and how lessons can be learnt
  • Rituals and customs around death and dying
  • Issues surrounding organ and tissue donation
  • Funeral and preparation and prescribed roles
  • Expressions of grief at the funeral
  • Attendance of non-faith members and women
  • Cremation or burial
  • Mourning periods - Length of and expectations around a mourning period
  • Ways of remembering someone who has died
  • Support organisations - general
  • Support organisations - Faith based

Baby Loss in different Communities

In every community listed below - pregnant people are at an INCREASED risk of baby loss.

We look at the reasons behind this and we also look at the additional support required and the additional challenges faced by parents in these communities who are facing a pregnancy or infant loss.

We include parents experiences.

We finish with an overview of the support required.
