*I currently have availability to take on new clients*
My aim is to offer a supportive, thoughtful, calm and accepting space, dedicated to exploring together what matters to you.
You may wish to try counselling because you’re feeling stuck, confused, or that you have lost touch with who you really are. There may be things you’re struggling to come to terms with, or feelings you don’t understand. You may be going through a period of significant change, or you may feel you keep coming up against the same problems.
I am a person-centred and integrative counsellor, drawing on a range of approaches and resources, as no single approach works for everyone. Counselling is a journey that we embark on together, not a fixed set of steps you have to follow. It is unique to you and we go at your pace.
I welcome clients of all backgrounds and have experience of working with people facing a range of difficulties, including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, isolation, bereavement, relationship issues and chronic health issues. I work short-term or long-term, depending on what best suits your needs and circumstances.
I have a particular interest in working with existential perspectives, bringing in fundamental aspects of our lives (such as choice, loss, meaning, responsibility, relationship) and how they affect each of us as individuals. It can be difficult to put what you're experiencing into words. I welcome bringing dimensions like creativity, dreams, visualisation or mindfulness into our sessions.
In a world that can feel distracting and demanding, making space to reflect, notice and look at things differently - where you are deeply listened to, without judgement - can open up possibilities for change.
I work in person at The Practice Rooms in central Bath on Thursdays and Fridays.
I offer an initial session at a reduced rate, with no obligation, so that we can decide whether to work together.
Please get in contact if you have any queries or would like to arrange an initial session: imogenlpcounselling@gmail.com
