Deborah Phillips, Counsellor in Bath, Online & Telephone

I am a humanistic & person-centred counsellor and work psychotherapeutically. I will tailor each session to your own needs of that day in a integrative and creative way.

I have always had an interest in natural healing and what it means to be a whole and healthy human. I personally know that navigating and transitioning through life can feel more than a little taxing at times. I have a particular interest in the differing stages of human development and all that this brings both practically and emotionally.

Therapy can give us an opportunity to gain greater insights into how we think and feel, understanding that we might see and feel things differently from others - and that is okay.

For many reasons, and in many guises, anxiety and depression can put in an appearance for the majority of us, at some stage. This may introduce us to feelings that are confusing, maybe overwhelming and even soul destroying. However, it can also offer us an opportunity to acquire a new knowledge and understanding about ourselves, enabling us to look at things in a creative and more diverse way.

We can learn to understand and accept our feelings as part of being human. We will normalise them and work with them, rather than against them.

What may emerge as we get to know each other are some of your core beliefs, boundaries and hidden rules. Our work together will help you understand the truth of these thoughts and the relationships you have to them. By becoming aware of how you feel, or maybe don’t feel, will enable us to ponder and be curious within our discussions.

Working together we can learn to accept unsettling situations, adjust our thoughts and gradually bring about the changes needed for a more peaceful and balanced life.

Tate Counselling
I have a private practice that is nestled within the Swainswick Valley just outside Bath in the village of Langridge. My practice room offers a safe and confidential space with views over the rolling countryside. It has the sounds of the nearby stream in the distance creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere for us to work in either ‘in person’ or via Zoom/phone.

Booking a Session.
Please call 07736 230859 or email deborah@tatecounselling.com so that we can arrange a time for an initial brief chat on the phone. This gives you an opportunity to hear my voice and ask any questions you may have. I will share how I work and if you feel comfortable it will also offer time for you to share a little about what is troubling you. We can then decide together if you would like to book an initial exploratory session.

Fees are £55 for a 50mins session either weekly or fortnightly.

I am a member of BACP and abide by their code of ethics, am fully insured and receive regular supervision.
