Life is rarely easy, and sometimes our problems can be too much to bear alone. Therapy answers our natural, human need to be heard and understood at the deepest level. The experience of feeling truly 'met' by another person can bring a fresh perspective, and help us find the calm and clarity we need for real change and healing to occur.
I'm a UKCP registered psychotherapist-in-training, working towards a professional qualification in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. In 5 years of clinical practice, I have helped people of all ages and backgrounds cope with life challenges such as anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, and relationship struggles. I also work part-time for a charity that supports people affected by life-limiting illness. Before training as a therapist I worked as a journalist, photographer, and director of brand communications.
As an integrative, humanistic therapist I draw on different therapeutic tools and methodologies to fit the needs of the individual. My intention is to always remain open to what the client brings to each session, rather than be led by a particular process or technique. I am interested in existential philosophy as a way of considering what it is to be human, creativity as a means of expressing it, and mindfulness as a practical tool for living compassionately towards oneself and others.
My therapy practice is registered with BCPC and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by the ethical codes of both institutions. Sessions are held in a quiet, private space just a short walk from Bath Spa train station. Evening and low-cost sessions can be arranged, subject to availability.
