I offer in person therapy for couples and individuals from a central Bath location. My website is talkingtherapybath and some of my many grateful clients have left positive reviews for me on Google (Maps)
I work daytimes, evenings, and Saturdays and have over a decade's experience of working both long-term and short-term. In addition to my private practice I have experience of working in agencies such as Bristol University, Bath University, and the Carers' Centre with a range of age groups. I have been practising since 2011 and have experience of dealing with a wide range of human distress and relief from suffering including depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, and problems in relationships.
I imagine that you're reading this because something feels painful. The problem may be small or feel overwhelmingly large. It may be that it's hard to be sure what the problem is: a loss of a sense of who you are and what you want from life or, perhaps, just a feeling of meaninglessness and that something is missing.
It's never too late to come to therapy. You are never too old, or too bad, or too set-in-your-ways to change yourself and your experience of life. There are some very special moments in a person's life when they feel able to change. I believe that there are many more of those moments in therapy.

I'm an integrative therapist who qualified as a counsellor in 2013 at BCPC. I'm a Registered Member of BACP and also an Accredited Counsellor - only one in four qualified counsellors are fully accredited.
My theoretical practice is based on the humanistic / existential and psychoanalytic traditions while also being influenced by the cognitive awareness that comes from mindfulness. However, my practice is influenced just as much by my own lived experience and my doubts about the efficacy of the medical model in dealing with mental health issues.
In plain English I offer an authentic, non-judgemental, and accepting personal relationship and notice what is happening in our relationship with regard to a wide range of psychological theory and practice.
The purpose is to assist you to understand your emotional, cognitive, and behavioural responses to life's challenges and to enable you to change where that is desired.
I have also completed several years of additional psychotherapy training including a psychiatric placement in a secure unit. In addition I've completed training in working with couples at the Centre for Relational Couples Therapy with David Slattery.
