I am Jet Simawi, a fully qualified, accredited and registered Psychotherapist supporting clients face-face and also on online with an established and very diverse and inclusive Private Practice.
We all experience times of difficulty, anxiety, depression and many other complexities in our lives, when trauma, life events or relationships feel overwhelming, or we can feel a loss of direction or purpose. Talking to a qualified psychotherapist helps us make sense of those repeating patterns, relational cycles and challenging times and in the space between us, it offers a way through them, moving towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and our feelings, creating long-lasting and meaningful change in our lives.
I have been awarded a Masters Degree in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University.
SUPERVISION:
I have completed my CSTD (Bath) Supervision Diploma programme; which has provided me with in-person bespoke training and continuing professional and personal development in supervision. This means I can offer supervision and support for all those in the helping professions including counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, teachers and many more.
The wide range of professions I can work with reflects the Supervision philosophy which is to be as inclusive as possible in all senses. It is based on 35 years of supervising, training supervisors and writing and researching about supervision internationally.
I am ready to receive supervisees and welcome the unfolding experiences to emerge.
I am now in the very final stage of training as I accrue my clinical hours. I have 2 spaces available for affordable, relational and reflective supervision for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I am UKCP registered and accredited. I abide by UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) regulations, this is the main professional body overseeing the accreditation and registration of psychotherapists in the UK.
I work with adults with a broad range of emotional complexities such as:

I continue to be deeply interested in understanding the unique struggle each of us undergo throughout our lives, sometimes more than once. In psychotherapy, we are co-creating a relationship, together we craft an emotionally safe environment within which a process of unfolding, unlearning and enabling new self-learning, then an exploration can take place between us. Through greater understanding of our innermost self, our trauma, then together we can begin to allow the possibility for change to emerge within therapy. I am trained and experienced in Body Psychotherapy, this is a crucial part of my therapy work with clients, where our bodies hold many of our untold and unconscious stories awaiting to be heard, processed and gradually integrated.
My approach to working with people is through offering high-quality relational, emotional, creative and experiential psychotherapy processing, using Body Psychotherapy to enable somatic experiencing. Whilst being aware of the global unrest, I aim to simultaneously deconstruct colonialist, oppressive and systemic narratives, enabling meaningful and transformative new representations to emerge and co-exist between us as a culturally competent, attuned and curious Psychotherapist, aware of my own cultural humility in my ongoing learning process about our diverse differences.
My previous personal and professional experiences, combined with my lifelong love for learning and commitment to healing, growth, development, unlearning and understanding have led me to being a professional and highly experienced educator for over 23 years and more recently as an educator and tutor at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC).
Working closely and deeply with a trained, registered and accredited psychotherapist has demonstrated a neurological rewiring of our central nervous system, most often this happens in the minutia of verbal and non-verbal processing we co-create. As a psychotherapist I explore multi-faceted intricacies and complexities which have made life a struggle; navigating and attending to the emotionally and somatically deeper complexities, multiple difficulties and presentations and when a person needs to make sense of their lived-experiences, relationship orientations and their sense of Self.
Whilst I hold and deeply respect many well-established theories and therapeutic approaches as my integrative underpinning, with a deep gratitude for the philosophical research which has also impacted and influenced my inner change, I consider myself to be a Post-modern Psychotherapist with a creative and holistic approach, enabling me to see you as a whole person, where my multi-faceted and relational stance is unique to each individual client as we navigate the unfolding process and the intricate complexities which can affect our sense of being.
I am particularly interested in complex trauma, existential Self, motherhood and our differences on an intersectional level and inter-human relating and understanding.
I abide by the BCPC and UKCP ethical framework and codes of practice.
