Individual counselling in Bristol
About me
I am currently in my final year of training for a diploma In Humanistic and Integrative Counselling at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. (BCPC)
I am a student member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I carry out all my work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
As part of my training I am a volunteer student counsellor at Bourne Family Project in Bristol.
I have experience of working with Childhood trauma, depression, bereavement, anxiety, issues with confidence, depression, relationships.
Before training to be a counsellor I had a long career in the arts across Theatre, film and TV.
How I work
I work in a person -centred way, which means carefully listening to your individual unique story. I do my best to understand you in terms of your own experience and world view. I offer my genuine presence and empathy as we undertake a collaborative process that's based on your agenda, not mine.
I work hard to create a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to work through worries, difficulties or traumatic life experiences. I do not offer direct advice but hope to empower you to become more self–aware or process difficult experiences. We may explore how your past experiences may be impacting you, helping you to understand how you relate to yourself and others. I hope to support you in developing resilience, finding inner strength to make positive changes, to understand your own path to wellbeing and so have more joy for the future.
How it works
