Welcome to the new BCPC website!

Our BCPC Community

As a student or graduate of BCPC you can join a community of like-minded individuals and support your practice during and beyond your training experience.

Continued Professional Development

Our programme of CPD events is designed to reflect the interests of our student and graduate body and to promote dialogue related to therapeutic practice.

Recent themes of our annual BCPC conference have included, ‘Being a Therapist in a time of climate breakdown’ and ‘Decolonisation - Where are we at?’ We encourage all new students to be part of the conversation about therapeutic practice in times of change and upheaval and to find their voice in this ever-changing landscape.

Many of our CPD events are run by BCPC graduates committed to exploring areas of personal interest such as working relationally with autistic clients and food addiction. We also regularly invite outside speakers to run workshops on themes ranging from the psychological effects of racism to gender fluidity and EMDR in the treatment of trauma.

BCPC Referral Service

BCPC offer support to our local community through our BCPC Referral Service and our BCPC Low Cost Counselling Service. These services are delivered by our trainees and graduates, enabling them to build their practice in the early stage of their careers. Being part of this community offering is often the first step for students wanting to establish their private practice with the support and backing of our referral team.

Graduate Opportunities

BCPC is a charity and our committee structure is run by graduate members who report to our Trustees. This means that graduates can play a direct role in helping shape the future of the organisation and upholding the ethical and professional standards that underpin our trainings. Many of our staff members are returning graduates who want to be part of the development of the next generation of BCPC trained psychotherapists and counsellors.
