This evening course is designed for anyone wanting to learn how to listen more effectively and to better understand others, whether in their place of work or everyday life. It offers an opportunity to explore the theme of difference, both our own and others, as well as issues of diversity and inclusion. It also offers an opportunity to explore BCPC’s experiential approach to learning and many students go on to apply for the Foundation Certificate year.
Each session will include an experiential seminar exploring themes of active listening; identity and humanistic principles of personal growth. This is followed by skills practice in small groups and wider learning about self and others in a weekly Process group. There is a small amount of weekly reading but no written assignments.
BCPC welcomes applicants from underrepresented and marginalised groups. If you have a disability or long-term health condition, we will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate fully on the course. For applicants to our in person Listening Skills course, our premises are partially wheelchair accessible.
Please apply by downloading the Application form above.
"I have a deeper appreciation of listening wholeheartedly and with an open-ness to others. This generosity of truly listening....even if there are completely different perspectives, misunderstandings or disagreement.....is something I will take away and practice."
