Rhianwen Gilson

I offer individual counselling to adults and young people in a warm and supportive environment. My practice based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

I am committed to working with clients to help them to become more accepting of themselves and to feel more able to make the positive changes that they may seek.

I work with clients across a range of experiences including relationship issues, bereavement, loss, abandonment, anxiety, depression, feelings of anger and powerlessness, being a carer, living with dementia, low self-esteem, trust and commitment issues, loneliness, emotional and physical health and wellbeing. 

Central to my way of working is an emphasis on developing a real and empathic relationship with my clients. I draw upon a range of approaches, theories and personal experiences in my work but my relationship with clients is always to the fore.

In addition to my private practice I work with adolescents in schools.

I adhere to the BCPC Statement of Ethical Principals and the Code of Practice for BCPC Counselling & Psychotherapy Practitioners.

I am a Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, MBACP (Accred).

Previous professional experience includes working for over 20 years in the broadcasting industry and training includes a B.A (Hons) in Business Studies.
