Paul North
Fully trained counsellor and BACP (British Association For Counselling & Psychotherapy) member with fourteen years NHS experience.
I am an experienced Counsellor with extensive NHS experience. I have also worked for the last seven years for a charity providing counselling for people affected by life threatening illness. This has given me enormous experience of working with grief and bereavement. I have undertaken additional training in this area.
I work closely with difficulties around change and transition. Here I pay attention to what is making someone feel 'stuck' and what is it that is getting in the way of making changes? I offer support in being able to make links between the past and the present and in begining to identify patterns of relating and behaviour.
I offer a safe and supportive environment as I understand this can be difficult and painful for people.
I am interested in how guilt, shame and anger operate in our lives and often get in the way of building close and meaningful relationships.
I have a private practice in Bristol and Nailsworth where I offer long term and briefer therapy. I have undertaken additional training in brief therapy.
