About

I offer open-ended psychotherapy in central Yeovil.

My approach is person-centered and I believe that each individual is the expert on themselves. Many people look towards therapy for help in understanding their emotions and behaviours and I work with clients to discover the origins to their feelings and help make sense of their experiences.

Many people can find themselves feeling stuck, anxious, depressed or unsure of themselves and their relationships and can benefit significantly from a non-judgmental, confidential and safe environment in which they can be met with compassion and acceptance. In this space a person can explore their relationship with themselves and with others and move to a place that feels more whole and secure.

I have previously worked as a Bereavement Counsellor and have been in Private Practice for over nine years, working with clients from all walks of life.

Further Information

I'm an experienced and fully qualified psychotherapist working in person in Yeovil, and online. I offer weekly sessions, working with adults who are seeking a warm, holding space where they can be met with compassion and feel safe to explore what issues they might be experiencing.
I believe its important to meet each person where they are in the moment, and instead of having a fixed idea of what needs to change, explore what they are actually experiencing. I hold a compassionate curiousity that invites clients to feel safe in our relationship. We're all made up of many different parts of ourselves, often finding these different wants and needs conflicting with each other. I provide a space where we can separate these out, slowly learning to recognise the origins and needs of each aspect, and see how they all contribute to a persons experience.
I'm interested in what you bring, and also curious about what might not be able to be spoken about, recognising the importance of your autonomy and safety in choosing what you share.

Training

I am a qualified Psychotherapist, having completed the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy training within BCPC.

My personal areas of interest are;

- how early emotional experience can result in adult physiological illness

- I am fascinated in the multiplicity of the 'self', the ways in which we adapt for protection, the way that external 'safety' can lead to internal conflicts.

I regularly attend additional CPD courses including courses on ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), Addiction, Dissociation, Neurodivergence, Sensorimotor and Trauma Therapy. I have also trained and worked in Bereavement Counselling.
