About

Life can be challenging: we can feel overwhelmed, and feel as though we have to say ‘yes’ to everyone and everything, feeling stuck, isolated, anxious and low…as though we’re not living as we’d like to, or perhaps used to.

As a humanistic and client-centred counsellor I offer a safe, empathic space where we can explore what might be causing you distress, enabling you to enhance your life and live it more fully.   I work online as well as face-to-face. I draw on other counselling approaches helping you to glean a better understanding of your past relationships and experiences alongside present experiences, perhaps coming to know yourself more deeply in the process too.

I know it can be daunting taking the first step towards counselling and so  I offer a free initial phone call to introduce myself and explain a little more about how I work.  Life can be challenging; we all need help navigating it sometimes.  In my experience, working together in a trusting, compassionate, non-judgemental relationship can help a great deal.

Training

I am a qualified counsellor (DipHIC (BCPC)) with counselling experience working face-to-face and online in private practice and the voluntary sector.  I have a previous career in secondary school education as an English teacher and pastoral manager.  I have a BA (Hons) degree in English Language and Literature and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education.
