Hannah Barclay
Counsellor-in-training offering low-cost counselling in North Somerset.
Are you looking for support in facing a particular challenge? Or perhaps life is generally feeling overwhelming?
You may have a clear sense of what you need, or maybe you don't know and I can help you figure that out.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I can draw on different approaches to best support you. I will listen, seek to understand your experience, and provide support so you don't have to face things alone. Together we can explore your thoughts and feelings, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and work towards greater clarity and calm. I offer short, medium or long-term counselling.
I have two years’ experience working in a counselling charity, working with many different presentations such as anxiety, attachment issues, bereavement, depression, estrangement, identity issues, loss, neurodiversity, relationship difficulties, self esteem, spirituality and trauma. I have a special interest, and personal and professional experience, in working with care leavers, foster carers and adoptive parents.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in higher education. I have been a foster carer for six years and have fostered young people alongside raising my birth children.
In-person sessions are available in central Nailsea (65 High Street) and Weston-super-Mare (Palmer Street). I offer a free 15-minute phone call for you to find out more about the counselling process and explore whether my approach is a good fit.
As a counsellor in the final stage of my training, I am able to offer counselling sessions at a reduced rate of £30 for 50 minutes. I work with adults (18+). My work is supported by an experienced supervisor, I am fully insured and I am a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
If you’d like to find out more or to arrange a phone call, I’d be glad to hear from you: hannahbarclaycounselling@gmail.com.
