Summary
- I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor with full clinical membership with UKCP and i am a registered member of BACP
- I have a diploma in Humanistic and Integrative counselling from BCPC.
- I work with adults as well as having a special interest and experience in working with young adults from 18-25.
- I can work over shorter or longer periods of time depending on your preference.
- My practice runs during term times with breaks in line with the school and university Holiday times.
With warmth, compassion and creativity, I offer psychotherapeutic counselling from the welcoming Therapy Space in central Bath and also from A Little Space… which is a peaceful shepherds hut in a rural location between Bath and Frome where the therapy incorporates the natural environment into the practice.
Why Counselling?
People come to counselling for many different reasons; perhaps you feel depressed, angry, anxious, stressed or stuck in some way. You may have been through a painful experience or transition in your life which has left you emotionally vulnerable. Or it may be that you just don’t feel your full and authentic self and you might be stuck in patterns of being and relating that don’t serve you anymore.
How I work
The way I work is grounded in the humanistic belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change. The therapeutic relationship itself is at the heart of this approach and you can expect me to be warm, honest and sensitive in the counselling relationship as well as being gently challenging. The integrative element of my training means that I can draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs. We may look at early life and past experiences and how they continue to impact you and your ways of being or we may draw on creative, body or nature focused approaches depending on what we feel will be most helpful for you in the moment.
What is key is that in a safe, supportive and confidential space we will work together to bring insight and understanding to your experience, as you look to find new ways of connecting with your full and true self and moving forward with your life.
