Stephanie White, Counsellor , Psychotherapist in Bristol ,

Stephanie White

Affordable, person-centred psychotherapy and CBT/REBT.

Hello. My name is Stephanie and I am a psychotherapist in training at BCPC on the MA programme, in the final stage of researching and submitting my papers for qualification.

I am interested in people. In each person’s unique complexity. In you.

If you are reading this then you may already have taken the first step on your therapeutic journey; the decision to explore, and to seek the right person to share this work with you.

Whether you come to me for longer term psychotherapy, shorter term work, or for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, my initial aim will always be the same; to create a warm, secure, boundaried space in which we can build our therapeutic relationship. A space where you feel able to share what is on your mind.

I am interested in you as a unique individual and in your connection to the world on an emotional, physical and spiritual level and in how you may experience feelings energetically, in your body.

Whatever you bring, we can explore it together and find ways to understand and make meaning from your experiences. A step on the path, an unlocking of the potential of your own flowering as an individual.

If you like reading, music, films or paintings, I have found that working with imagery and metaphor can be a useful (and fun) part of the process. I also like working with dreams.

Areas of experience and interest include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • relationship difficulties
  • loss of meaning and direction
  • abandonment trauma
  • shame
  • infertility
  • living with chronic illness
  • child sexual abuse
  • feelings of being 'stuck'
  • adoption
  • working with older people
  • spirituality and faith
  • non-twelve step approach to alcohol and substance addiction
  • Grief, bereavement and loss.
  • ADHD and ASD
  • Family estrangement
  • Being an only child

I can offer you a weekly session of fifty minutes and fees are £45 per session for psychotherapy (if contact is made via the Referral Service administrator, otherwise £50 if you contact me directly) and £50 for CBT/REBT. I do have a small amount of wriggle room (depending on your financial circumstances) to offer fees at £45.

My Practice is at 13/14 Orchard Street. Situated in an elegant Georgian terrace, I work from a quiet, comfortable attic room. Appointments are available Tuesdays to Fridays inclusive. There are good public transport links and both on-street metred parking and a nearby NCP. On Mondays I work from home on Zoom.

I hope this brief summary has been useful. Please feel free to contact me for an initial appointment (£45). My website has more comprehensive information which you may find helpful:

I am completing my training with BCPC on their MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, and am in the process of researching and writing my papers for submission and qualification, balancing this with a busy full-time practice.

I also have a qualification in CBT/REBT with the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies in London.
