Workshops & CPD
Our CPD programme is designed to stimulate and enrich the minds of students in training and those with a keen interest in the areas of psychotherapy and counselling.
Most courses are open to the public and have no entry requirements - the only exception being the 'Study' Courses (i.e. Relational Process, Reflection & Presence, Body Process).
For workshops / CPD with no entry requirements. To reserve a place on a course, full payment must be made.
If you wish to cancel your place less than a month before the start of the event, no refund will be payable. Otherwise a full refund will be given. Courses may be cancelled if numbers are insufficient to make them viable.
Certificate in Supervision
BCPC and the Centre for Supervision and Team Development (CSTD) are now collaborating by BCPC recognising the CSTD Bath training as one they recommend for BCPC graduates. A new curriculum has recently been written to take into account the needs of psychotherapists and therapeutic counsellors who work in depth over time and a separate module for those who work in the public and voluntary sectors in more focussed work. The best selling book on supervision, 'Supervision in the Helping Professions', was written by two staff members of CSTD, Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet, and the 4th edition of this book, which is soon to be published, has contributions by Judy Ryde and Joan Wilmot.
The certificate involves four 3-day modules held in Bath. The modules may be undertaken over a flexible time period. In addition 10 supervisions on supervision and three tutorials need to be completed before the certificate is awarded.
CSTD has been running supervision courses for 25 years and its approach is highly suitable for BCPC graduates, it having founders in common – Peter Hawkins and Judy Ryde.
