HOW TO APPLY

Listening Skills

This popular introductory course is running in the Spring/Summer of 2013. It will be led by BCPC Foundation tutor Ounkar Kaur assisted by Sallee Lees, if the group has more than eight members.

Wednesday evenings in Bath (10 sessions)

Times:      6.30pm – 9.30pm. Dates: 15th May 2013 – 17th July 2013 inclusive

Venue:      BCPC, 1 Walcot Terrace, London Road, Bath BA1 6AB

The Listening Skills course costs £250.00. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To apply, please complete the Listening Skills application form and return it to the BCPC office before May 1st 2013. Please enclose a covering letter saying why you want to do this course and a cheque for £250.00 payable to BCPC. Your acceptance of a place on this course is a contractual commitment to pay the full fee and refunds are not permitted if for any reason you do not complete the course.

Foundation Certificate / Psychotherapy Diploma & MA / Counselling Diploma

Below is a brief guide on how to apply. For detailed information, especially concerning application deadlines, interview dates and course dates please download the course information sheet here.

We now provide the facility to apply online or if you prefer you can download an application form here  in Microsoft Word format. 

If you are an internal applicant, i.e. have completed our Foundation Certificate and are applying to our psychotherapy or counselling diploma, then log in to the Member pages and use the Internal Application, alternatively you can  download an internal application form in Micorsoft Word format. 

Once you have submitted your application you will get an acknowledgement email to confirm that it was successfully received. If you have any questions about the process or the application form, or would like a paper application please contact admin@bcpc.org.uk or telephone 01225 429 720.

References

External Applicants: Two references, submitted on BCPC reference forms are required. This should be one professional and one personal and cannot be from a family member or therapist. Please send the forms to your chosen referees and ask them to return them to the BCPC Office as soon as possible. Applicants will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of their applications.

Internal Applicants (for either Diploma): Two references are required; one from your current Foundation tutor (please let him/her know about your application) and one from a person other than either of your referees for Foundation. Please send this person the reference form and ask him/her to return it to the BCPC Office as soon as possible.

Interviews
Our interview days are structured as a workshop-style experience. All applicants, internal and external, invited to an interview and selection day are charged £35. Applicants will be short-listed for interview on the basis of their applications.

Post-Qualifying MA

If you would like to apply to the PQMA please download the PQMA application form and return to the office.

Workshops and CPD

To apply for one of our Workshops or CPD, you can download the application form and send it in by email, or simply print if off and send us a hard copy.

Funding

We regret that we are not registered with the Learning and Skills Council and are unable to provide funding however you may be eligible for a Professional and Career Development Loan. If you need financial assistance we suggest making enquiries for educational loans at a high street bank or similar, looking into funding opportunitiesonline or looking into BACP bursaries.

BCPC Bursaries

BCPC offers two bursaries one for our Foundation Certificate course and one for our Listening Skills course.

- Foundation Certificate: One bursary (fee remission) place will be available for this course each academic year. This place will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Applicants who may be eligible for this bursary will be in receipt of an income related benefit and either be living in one of the more deprived areas of Bath or Bristol or be of black or other ethnic minority origin.

- Listening Skills Course: £100 per student is offered for this course. It is a requirement that all recipients of a payment from this fund will need to be in receipt of an income related benefit and be of black or other ethnic minority origin.
