A Day with Patrick Casement
During the course of this day event Patrick will be drawing upon his own life experiences, and inviting participants to draw upon theirs, to illustrate some of what can be learned from life -- in particular the many ways in which we can find, or re-discover, theory through the life we live. The quality of connection, from life to theory, can often be found to be more dynamic and fresh than when (as so often) we apply theory to the lives of others. Patrick has presented this day event elsewhere in the UK and in Sweden, always to capacity audiences. It is hoped that this presentation will be both enjoyable and clinically meaningful for all who attend
Biography
After reading Anthropology and Theology, Patrick worked as a probation officer and then as a family caseworker (in the East End). He subsequently trained as a psychotherapist and later as a psychoanalyst. He wrote four books, the first two of which have recently been selected by Routledge to launch their new series "Classics in Mental Health". Patrick has recently survived an aggressive cancer and approaches the theme of today's event with a renewed passion for life.
